My grand finale in Canada started with a hilarious April Fools\u2019 prank \u2013 they set up a classic water cup trap for me. This introduced a week full of adventures and heartfelt experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Easter break officially on, we decided to take it easy. We spent the day chilling out, playing Trivial Pursuit, and finishing the day with a cozy movie night. But that was just the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, we turned into amateur goat shepherds, chasing these shy, but vivid creatures around the property. It truly was a memorable experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, it was time to head out for an adventure. We took the quads and their side by side for an adrenaline-pumping ride through the local forest, conquering narrow pathways, dugouts, and everything else in our way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As every adventure has to include a picnic stop, we feasted on hotdogs and hamburgers in a scenic forest clearing, joined by the family\u2019s grandpa and great-uncle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how about some more food highlights? Mr. Sudnik made some truly delicious omelets, a breakfast masterpiece. As for my last dinner with the Sudnik Family, he took it up a notch and made us mouthwatering Canadian fish and shrimp with rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, we had to look into Alberta\u2019s history at the dinosaur museum, where we could touch real fossils. Then we checked out the local drugstore, another thing crossed off my to-do list ;-).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As my time with my incredible host family drew to an end, we enjoyed every moment.
The goodbyes were sad and bitter, as I had just adapted to the Canadian way of life and all the nice people. To be honest, the three weeks weren\u2019t quite enough. But as everything has come to an end, we said our goodbyes, exchanged hugs and promised to stay in touch. Then, it was time to hit the road to Edmonton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We, (Rylan and I) would leave early in the morning to Edmonton, joining up with Mrs Linda Labbe and her husband who were so kind to drive us there. Once we arrived in Edmonton we headed straight to West Edmonton Mall, where Rylan and I spent the rest of the day in the mall\u2019s water park, which features more than 17 unique water slides. For supper Mrs. And Mr. Labbe kindly ordered us pizza and additionally organized our hotel room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day dawned, marking my last in the land of maple Sirup and endless prairies, Canada. Around noon they took me to the airport in Edmonton, where we said goodbyes and I was on my own. Coincidentally I met a very kind teacher from Beaverlodge Regional High School (BRHS), who I had in English class before. We flew to Calgary, on the same plane, from where I would continue my journey back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 After a marathon flight back to Frankfurt, that lasted 10 hours, I was welcomed by my family, who surprised me with a belated 18th birthday party. What a nice homecoming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huge thanks to everyone who I met in Canada, for giving me the most memorable time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big thanks to the BRHS principal, teachers, staff, and students for welcoming me to your school, showing me around, and teaching me new stuff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, I won’t forget to thank my gorgeous host family. I wish you guys all the best and see y\u2019all soon and I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me over, doing cool stuff, and giving me the best idea of a Canadian family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, I want to thank Mrs. Franziska W\u00f6ll and Mrs. Linda Labbe for organizing the student exchange program, supporting me with everything, and giving me lifts to and from the airport, I truly did appreciate your effort and your time spent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, I want to thank our principal and her colleagues, especially Mr Fues for making the Student Exchange possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, I also have to thank my parents for all the support and help I received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I certainly carry with me memories and friendships that are meant to last. For me, those three weeks were one big success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
